Review of Caught (2018) by Luciusmcgibbon — 16 Aug 2018

This movie has a really promising set-up, and spends the bulk of its run time behaving like it's building up to an interesting reveal. Problem is, the reveal never comes... which is even more disappointing considering the teasing semi-reveal ("dear god! there's something in this photo!" but they never show it.).

This really just feels like half a movie at best, and the half we do see is just standard home invasion/hostage family fare with nothing particularly fresh to it, let alone an actual payoff after spending 90 minutes of aimless buildup. The bad guys are unusual, which makes you want to see the movie through to see what their deal is... but with no reveal as to their true nature, they just end up being weird and unsatisfying.
