Review of Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (2010) by James T — 18 Sep 2010
While this is not a movie I would normally have chosen to go see, the fact that I have a housemate with a young child would and has given me a reason to go see a movie intended for children. I will happily admit that I very much enjoyed the original movie and was hoping for the same humor and entertainment from this sequel.
I will first say that for its intended audience this movie certainly has a lot of moments of humor and the kids are sure to love it. There is plenty for adults to laugh at too. I did enjoy the film but to say its an original idea is a stretch. The film is essentially one film rip off from another, starting from the "james bond" opening credits to the Silence of The Lambs Prison tribute to the House that the guys daughter lived in, in :"The Rock" they just took scenes from one film after another and tried to dumb them down for kids. Putting all that aside, it was funny there was many good one liners and I found myself laughing more than the other kids in the audience at times.
Three out of Five Stars for this one. I recommend to all kids or kids at heart.
