Review of Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (2010) by Luke S — 03 Nov 2011
This is a live action movie that revolves around the fortunes of a police dog named Diggs. The officer he works with, Shane, saw something in Diggs when he was a pup and tried to get him trained with the police force.
However, Diggs has problems following orders, and when his latest outing sees him help blow up a used car dealership . . . it's back to the kennel again. But that is when he is approached by Butch, a dog high up in the ranks of a secret organization for dogs that ensures their species' safety and keeps them in place as "man's best friend".
However, times are tense. A diabolical cat named Kitty Galore, a former agent from M.E.O.W.S. (a secret cat agency of the same ilk), has built a weapon that will bring about the downfall of all dogs worldwide.
Butch and Diggs only have a couple of days to operate and find Kitty Galore before it's doomsday. Along the way they fall in league with a pigeon named Seamus as well as Catherine, a current agent of M.
E.O.W.S. also working the Kitty Galore case. Cats and dogs working together, who would have ever thought!?! But will they all be able to get past their differences (and will Diggs be able to follow orders well enough) for them to find this rogue cat and bring her to justice? This movie, which I thought was going to be total cheese, was actually quite funny and very entertaining! There was a lot of action in it and a ton of movie references as well, including Star Wars, Batman, James Bond, among many others.
And quite a bit of great voice talent to boot.
