Review of Cats (1998) by Raine S — 17 May 2009
One of my favorite musicals...EVER. I grew up around it, and I remember watching this film when I was about six years old on our sometimes-functional VCR. These cats are definitely not pussycats, from the flirtatious Rum Tum Tugger to the sexy duo Bombalurina and Demeter.
The musical becomes a little hard to understand sometimes, but the lyrics altogether are superb. The voices of Ellen Paige and Helen Massie are haunting and beautiful. The music type is broad. The choreography is phenomenal and the plot is unique.
All this combined makes CATS one of the most unforgettable musicals I have ever seen.
