Review of Catfish (2010) by Richard F — 14 May 2011
An astonishing and profoundly uneasy experience that's unlike anything you've ever seen. Catfish is a techno-documentary that's a towering example of the strange technically- connected world that we live in.
Set up or not, this film makes for a thrilling experience from start to finish. A tale of lonliness, curiosity, technology and most of all deception, pure deception. It's searingly implausible, quite shocking, wickedly riveting and an eye-opener all at the same time.
Excellent filmaking from all involved, a true Hitchcock-ish entertainment that will have you wide eyed and pinned to tour seat. We live in an era where social networking rules our every day lives, and this film is a perfect example.
So whether you're a tech junkie, a facebook addict, a Twitter tweeter, a Youtube fanatic or just simply none of the above (like myself) this film will appeal to you in a big way.
