Review of Catfish (2010) by Adam G — 27 May 2011
Catifsh is a film that's endlessly fascinating, culturally prescient and extraordinarily moving. It puts on full display the notion of identity in the digital age, and carefully peels back the layers, but what we discover in the process all ties back to a truth that's as true now as it's ever been. What is it? I can't say, because it'll spoil the movie. So just watch it.
Oh, and yes, there's been some questions as to whether or not this is actually a documentary, but it's irrelevant. I'm seeing it late, but this was definitely one of the best films of 2010 - hoax or no.
