The movie seems to find it difficult to decide whether it wants to be a funny feelgood about a man brilliantly outsmarting the law, or a serious drama about a lonely kid from a broken home who keeps digging himself into a deeper hole.
It's entertaining for sure, but the conflicting themes don't mix very well.
