Review of Catch Me If You Can (2002) by Ellis W — 23 Mar 2014
Spielberg has taken an intellectual and sophisticated true story and worked it into something rather charming. It's sweet, clever and benefits from perhaps one of Leo DiCaprio's most overlooked roles, with Tom Hanks easily keeping up and a handful of strong supporting players.
John Williams' score is bare bones and dryly melancholy, working well and never becomes bombastic, and couples well with Spielberg's ever reliably gorgeous cinematography.
