Review of Catch Me If You Can (2002) by Joseph H — 04 Jun 2012
Catch Me If You Can is a fun, lighthearted film from director Steven Spielberg. Based on a true story, the film follows a cat and mouse game between con man Frank Abagnale Jr., and FBI agent Carl Hanratty.
The cast is quite good, and includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, Amy Adams, and Jennifer Garner. DiCaprio and Hanks work well together, and create rich and interesting characters.
Additionally, Spielberg does an especially good job at moving the film along and keeping it centered on the relationship between Abagnale and Hanratty. Catch Me If You Can is a whimsical film with a fascinating story.
