Review of Catch Me If You Can (2002) by Rafael L — 21 Dec 2013
Leonardo Dicapero and Tom Hanks teams up with the great Steven Spielberg to bring us a true story about a young man named frank and a FBI agent named Carl. Sounds pretty good right?
Catch Me If You Can. The story stars off with a tv show about who's the real frank and we immediately cut too Carl being in France where we see the broken down and bad conditioned Frank being held in prison. We then travel to six years earlier where we get a back story of franks life with this family that eventually breaks over time and then we see how frank becomes the man who forges checks. Carl picks this up and begins to try and get this kid and we get our movie.
The film, probably one of Spielbergs best movie in a long time and one of my personal favorites. The way he filmed this movie, the set pieces and the music was just right on cue. Only Spielberg could have pulled this off.
Leonardo plays frank fantastically along with Hanks being the FBI agent with a funny persona and yet serious on finding this kid who in my opinion becomes like a father figure because they get close during this chase.
Great movie, great Spielberg movie, and one of the best movies that I enjoy a lot. I definitely recommend checking this film out at least once because it's definitely underrated in my opinion.
