Review of Catch Me If You Can (2002) by Nikola B — 23 May 2015
Beginning with a stylish animated introduction with the accompaniment of the composer John Williams. "Catch me if you can" is a highly engaging biographical crime drama that follows the late teenager years of the ingenious check forger Frank Abagnale.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks portray the lead characters of the story superbly and display a marvelous battle of wit, determination, and compassion. It is not as to when the wrongdoer of the movie will be apprehended, but as to how. The development of the characters is captivating to view, the two perspectives- the free spirited criminal and the law abiding FBI agent.
The supporting cast deserves praise as well, pointing out especially Christopher Walken and his Oscar nominated performance.
Steven Spielberg's directorial approach continues to be strongly efficient and successful, critically and financially. The director proves that his brilliance is still in the paste it was in the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
