Review of Catch It (2015) by Byron B — 19 May 2016
An honorable mention with the set of Oscar's Best Short Animated Film nominees. A French short, but, with only vulture squawks and meerkat chatter, it works as a nearly silent chase film. A family/team of meerkats protect a precious fruit from the clutch of a vulture.
Looks a bit like a game of football. Looks like the filmmakers are trying to copy the comedy of Twentieth Century Fox Animation's Ice Age series, especially Scrat chasing his acorn. The chase plot doesn't give much mileage though even for the 5 minute run time.
