Review of Catch and Release (2006) by Shiela E — 05 Oct 2011
Pretty good one. not like your typical rom/com. had a little bit more depth to it, and was a bit more realisitic in that just like in real life, you often find out that the person you love was not exactly how you thought they were.
sometimes you discover that they had secrets, secrets that make you realize that they had a lot of flaws you were unaware of. sometimes when push comes to shove and the chips are down, you find out what someone is truly made of, that they have admirable qualities you wouldn't have expected.
both sides are explored here. once in awhile, the "right" guy is really mr. wrong, and Mr. wrong is exactly what you needed all along. the film also explores how people can change and grow, how they can make it through a tragedy and become something completely different from who they were, something better maybe.
on a final note, really liked kevin smith here. was cool to see him actually "act" as opposed to his nearly mute turn as silent bob.
