Review of Catch a Fire (2006) by Fabio Z — 24 Jun 2007
Better than expected, but no where near as good as Cry Freedom. Unfortunately, as a South African, one simply does not believe Tim Robbins and Derek Luke in their roles-the fake accents are annoying. Also it would have been nice if there was greater contextualisation, as Apartheid was never characterised by one white man tracking down one black man-in many ways the blatant and exaggerated emphasis placed on this one personal relationship undermined the movie's creibility in respect to detailing Apartheid.
