Review of Catch a Fire (2006) by Dallas G — 16 Oct 2007
It was odd to see Robbins adopt a South African accent but I soon forgot about that because the historical content is still very much relevant. Admitedly it felt like it was sometimes rushed and things were skimmed over in favour of cohesion or maybe even budget constraints, but the story still adequately represented the struggle for the ANC to be recognised as a political force.
I wonder if we forget that many of todays political parties were born from oppression. The film adequately represented the brutality of a country once lost and possibly to many peoples ''dismay", is now on the road to recovery.
What does it really take to stand up for ones beliefs, and would many of us have the courage to do so?
