Review of Catch a Fire (2006) by Zoltan G — 04 Nov 2007
This film, which is set in the early 1980s, tells the true story of a South African oil worker who was wrongly accused of a terrorist act and the impact this arrest had on his life. Derek Luke plays Chamusso and Tim Robbins plays the head of the South African anti terrorism unit. Both actors give capable performances in their roles.
The film is not as effective as it could be in building the two main characters. There are scenes with Tim Robbinsâ?? character that donâ??t seem to deliver the intended emotion. These criticisms aside, this drama is a decent portrayal of the story of Patrick Chamusso.
