Review of Catch-22 (1970) by Michael B — 24 Mar 2008
The 1970s were unique in that there was a small window after Vietnam, race riots, etc. where the military and the police could be exposed - seriously, when have you seen a cop or a soldier look bad on film since Reagan was president? This film, along with MASH, hits the military.
I can assure you, as preposterous as this film may seem, it barley scratches the surface. Plus, Alan Fucking Arkin.
