Review of Catch-22 (1970) by Anthony S — 18 Aug 2004
Started as a hilarious romp about war and how corrupt and completely stupid it is.
All of the characters are great, well written, and very funny.
My only complaint is that, at some points, it got so confusing trying to figure out what was and wasn't flashbacks that I was, well, confused. I THINK I have it figured out now, but I'm not too sure.
I was surprised to see such an incredibly graphic and gory scene in such an old movie. I didn't think they really showed that kind of thing until later on in movies like Apocalypse Now and Platoon. (If you have seen Catch 22, you know what scene I am talking about).
