Nothing like the original. Mildly interesting premise that rapidly devolves into a crashing embarrassment for anyone in it. And also, why the heck does the gypsy-esque woman who approaches irena speak a horribly pronounced version of Spanish if nowhere in the film are the Cat People associated with the Spanish language? Sad, just sad.
