Review of Cat People (1942) by Jarod K — 29 Dec 2007
Ostensibly tacky B-movie--woman transfroms into deadly panther whenever she becomes emotionally stimulated--is also a serious film about marital sexual dysfunction, immigrant assimilation, and the struggle between rationality and romanticism.
A brilliant, subtle, and literary movie. Avoid the crass, idiotic, pornographic, 1982 remake at all costs!
