Review of Cat People (1942) by Don M — 25 Oct 2008
Poor Kent Smith starts a relationship with Simone Simon, not knowing that she may be descended from a line of medieval, Serbian "Cat People"...or it could all just be in her pretty little head. There's that, and she won't put out. Even after marriage. Poor, poor Kent Smith.
It sounds ridiculous, but "Cat People" is all about mood, and lighting; and Director Jacques Tourneur knew how to deliver the goods.
