Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Marla — 27 Jul 2008
Yes, the censorship does mean there's a lot of talking around issues instead of getting to grips with them. But the cast of "CAT" delivers such phenomenal performances that it almost doesn't matter.
Taylor is note perfect as Maggie the Cat and Newman is phenomenal as Brick. Add Ives as Big Daddy and you have absolute electricity on film. Their scenes together are powerful stuff.
