Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Lene . — 22 Dec 2008
Brilliant character study... all three of the main characters are deeply and thoroughly examined as this film progresses. And throughout you figure out the story each has to tell and why Brick is so distant and Maggie so devoted and Big Daddy so disconnected with his family.
The themes all mesh as well and for such a heavy film, the ending really lets you leave feeling good instead of how you could easily feel uneasy after watching so much turmoil in a family. And Elizabeth Taylor just scorched the screen.
.. breathtaking.
