Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Jordan T — 13 Mar 2009
Probably the sexiest on screen couple you'll ever see with Liz Taylor and Paul Newman. People just don't look like that anymore, and there will never be another woman who looks like Taylor did in this film.
..gorgeous. Both give fantastic performances and are so engaging to watch. Burl Ives was the man though in his role as "Big Daddy". I absolutely love movies where the male just tells the female to shut up lol (sorry ladies, it's hysterical).
This movie has a lot of comical moments, but delivers on emotion too (Newman's breakdown). Funny how this is the 2nd Newman flick I've seen where it starts with him getting drunk and doing something stupid.
What's awesome is how this was a play. It progresses just as a play would and has a nice small cast with simple scenery. I'd be very interested to see the stage performance and would love even more to be part of it.
Classic cinema and everyone should check it out.
