Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Matthew S — 13 Jul 2010
A good film that was clearly adapted from a play. It's always cool to see how a story can be told exclusively from dialog and a few sets. Unfortunately, that also means the set up can be pretty slow, which was the case with this film, and the more "cinematic" introduction was weak, confusing, and unneeded.
The story was interesting, though, and I really enjoyed the dark, sarcastic humor. Just hold on through the dull parts and you won't regret it.
