Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Heather L — 24 Sep 2011
Wow! Sizzling hot. Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman were both incredible in this. Seeing the behind the scenes doco about this made it even more incredible for me. Poor Elizabeth Taylor had just lost her husband halfway through production and returned to work after only a two week break.
My only complaint about the movie was that the storyline felt rushed. In reality the kind of topics the movie deals with would take months, years to work out. This story has them from enemies to closest family literally overnight. I loved the complexity of the issues that they had to work out. I really appreciated and understood the characters, Taylor and Newman fleshed out their characters so vividly.
