Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by Grant F — 16 May 2012
You could feel entitled to expect more from a film starring Newman and Taylor but despite their impassioned performances this felt like a strangely hollow experience. It really amounts to one a three quarter hours of arguing, with little else to recommend it.
Streetcar remains by far the best Williams adaptation that I have seen, this falls short. I enjoyed it aesthetically but couldn't really get beyond the exterior.
