Review of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) by P. P — 13 Nov 2012
Big Daddy (Burt Ives), Paul Newman. Elizabeth Taylor is smouldering in a fitted white slip. The only flaw in this superb adaptation of William's play is the musical score. It overwhelms in crucial scenes and undermines the superlative writing (Tennessee Willilams does not even need a musical score).
His words pack a heady enough punch! This is a marvelous ensemble cast at the height of their prowess.
