Review of Castle in the Sky (1986) by Ladysta — 13 Jul 2020
I’m giving it a 9 cus I absolutely loved this movie, and take on the world we live in, love and what it means to love, and family between would be strangers. BUT... I I felt in the end the roots of the castle kept her alive because she’s the rightful, as well as dutiful princess or queen or the castle, that she had an obligation to stay there and keep it alive, as only the rightful heir can do, or so the story said?!? Maybe I’m too sucked in.
That said, I love this movie and it’s director, Hayao Miyazaki, will def give it him a 10, even a 20, on the imagination and story telling genius that he is.
