Review of Castle Freak (1996) by The M — 04 Mar 2009
Castle Freak is indeed a treat because they seriously almost never make horror films like this one anymore. This Stuart Gordon flick starring old amigos such as Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton is about a couple and their blind daughter who inherit an old castle after a duchess dies. What they don't know is that the duchess had a son who was locked up and beat with a whip and now the son is loose in the castle. Things suddenly start to get ugly....
The castle freak is a pretty darn crazy as he kills everything in his path in quite disturbing and gory fashion. Jeffrey Combs is really fun to watch in this as always. If you really want top notch acting then you can just forget about seeing this movie but that is besides the point. Plus the castle freak is naked the entire time and well...he's got balls but seems to be missing something else quite vital. And well you can figure that one out on your own!
