Review of Cast Away (2000) by Jordan K — 02 Feb 2012
Fantastic movie that really makes you think.
Chuck Noland is alone on a deserted island after a plane crash which he was the only one to survive. He'll have to surivive on his own, but it's obviously not so easy. He has to make fire, catch fish, build shelter; etc. His only friend is a volleyball named Wilson, the only one he has to keep him going. Four years later, he's still on the island. He wonders if he'll ever make it off and see his girlfriend, Kelly, whom he still keeps a picture of her.
Really good movie. Tom Hanks is most likely my favorite actor, and I like the majority of movies I've watched with him in it. His survival tactics and his good thinking interest me, and this movie was wonderful. You need to see it, it's one of my favorites.
And I liked Wilson.
