It's crazy how uneven this movie is. I remember hearing about it when it came out in Japan and getting the distributor to screen it at Sony. They really screwed up letting it go and letting DreamWorks pick it up.
I would think they might remake it badly in English, but I think they kind of tried with Transformers. This is the best attempt and making Anime into Live Action - it's so raw that it's flawed because you see the seams where it doesn't translate.
Think that's why the film is so uneven.
