Review of Casshern (2004) by Mikko R — 13 Feb 2008
A 1970's anime remade into live action form. After a long brutal war science run amok leads to the creation of a new bread of human. They turn against their progenitors and a new war begins. The action scenes play out like something out of Dragon Ball Z with lots of over the top effects.
The whole thing is shot on blue screen. This is used nicely to create some beautiful slow moments in addition to the battle scenes. The film meanders at points and could use a little tightening. A decent movie and a must watch for those who like Anime.
