Review of Casper (1995) by Martin H — 14 Jan 2012
Wow. As a kid I thought this movie was average. Now as a 25 year old who's just watched it for the first time in years... Loved it. People say it's too scary for a kids movie, which is kind of true. The humor is absolutely perfect, the story is sweet and the romance was a surprise, I actually had tears in my eyes at the end when Casper (in human form) walks down the stairs. The line that got me was when he says to Kat (Christina Ricci) "Can I keep you?".
The score was superb, and I just felt everything came together perfectly. I know giving it a 5 star is probably over the top, but I just felt the impact, and the enjoyment I got from the movie was more than deserving. Excellent. 5/5.
