Review of Casper (1995) by Spencer J — 15 Nov 2012
This is a good decent film that was ground breaking once again in CGI as well as telling of an old cartoon in the modern day. Even though this movie is way more adult then it should've been it is still way better than it's kiddish no talent sequel.
This film starts off with Casper being alone and wanting friends, but he can find no one that is scared of him. So, when a spoiled heiress named Carrigan Crittenden and her partner Dibs inherit the Whipstaff Manor they believe there is treasure in the mansion and they want to get it out.
After several failed attempts they call on a ghost shrink named Dr. James Harvey, who also has a daughter named Kat how Casper falls in love with. So, once they enter the mansion to deal with the problem, it turns out to be an expierence for the Harvey's as Kat is trying to regain a normal life and Dr.
Harvey deals with the other three frightening tennates of Whipstaff Manor, The Ghostly Trio. So, what will become of all this? Can Dr. Harvey succeed in taming the ghosts, will Carrigan and Dibs get the treasure, and will Casper and Kat find any friends.
This film has a good message and even though with parts being corny and out of whack, this movie is worth a watch. Plus with the classic cameos this film has you are sure to enjoy it. 9 out of 10.
