Review of Casino Royale (1967) by Shane F — 30 Oct 2015
A sweeping, riveting, tour de force. Witty dialogue, including the complicated relationship between Vespa and Bond, are a highlight. Add in suitably unhealthy doses of action, parcour, car chases and, shake - not stir.
Daniel Craig delivers a gritty, dark and uncompromising Bond, matched by Eva Green's smouldering, sensual, complex performance. The strength of Vespa is a standout, particularly when compared to the hollow charactures of previous incarnations.
One of the best ever Bond movies!
