Review of Casino Jack (2010) by Steve I — 22 Nov 2009
The "Mystery Screening" at the Denver Film Festival (director George's brother is Mayor Hickenlooper) was a surprise and tested very well with the audience. Kevin Spacey portrays notorious GOP lobbyist Jack Abrahamof with witty, vile zeal.
The story serves as a reminder that the lobbying game keeps DC functioning. The two best performances, at opposite ends of the spectrum, were Jon Lovitz as the scuzzy business man and Kelly Preston as the upset wife who steals an emotional concluding scene.
Slated the open Autumn 2010, it will be a highly buzzed Oscar contender.
