Review of Casino Jack (2010) by David G — 05 May 2013
Based on true events, Casino Jack tells the story of slick "super-lobbyist" Jack Abramoff (Kevin Spacey) whose underhanded scheming and corruption helped fund a lavish lifestyle. Abramoff is a very interesting character and Spacey plays him with gusto, chewing through scenery with a combination of that classic Spacey monotone we all know and love and foul-mouthed rants.
It's hard to take the film too seriously as it's more of a black comedy than a straight up drama (to the film's detriment one might argue) but with the fascinating material and quality cast, it's well worth a look.
