Review of Casino (1995) by Alex A — 07 Apr 2011
This movie is gritty, violent, and painful all the way through. The story is loosely based on actual events of the Las Vegas mob scene during the late 70's and early 80's. DeNiro and Pesci put in their typical great performances that is reminiscent of their earlier work in Goodfellas.
Sharon Stone has the best role of her career and is brilliant as the devious, but beautiful wife. Director Martin Scorcese uses a narration style all the way through the movie and it is unique enough to appreciate.
Scorcese also shows he has never gone wrong with this genre.
