Not the best of the "epic" gangster films, just seems to be an extension to Goodfellas and re-uses similar formulas - Pesci plays the same role as GF and De Niro is a similar hands off guy. Casinos instead of wise guys but a similar formula.
Don't get me wrong it is a great film, just if you want a premium Gangster film check out Godfather 1,2 or Goodfellas.
