Review of Casino (1995) by Tommy H — 19 Apr 2015
A forgettable movie made in the shadow of Goodfellas. All the elements are there for a classic Scorcese mobster flick, but the film felt very tired and much of it seemed recycled. I felt some nostalgia for other mob films so at least it had that.
I think it would have been much better without the dysfunctional romance. It felt like a chore to sit through those parts. No wonder Scorcese quit the mob scene after Casino and started working with Leonardo DiCaprio.
