Review of Cashback (2007) by Alejandro P — 21 Jun 2009
It was a cute, romantic comedy that put all its hopes for laughs on its quirky eccentric supporting cast. And while the movie would have been painfully slow without the occasional giggle, overall, the humor was too much of a juxtaposition against the dry, somber, overly static nature of the main character (Ben).
While enjoyable, it didn't set off any fireworks. I imagine this may appeal to a college aged film student, who will be excited by the first twenty minutes' devotion to gratuitous nudity.
