Review of Cashback (2007) by Scott W — 03 Mar 2011
What a magnificently charming film. This take on how beauty is seen through an artists eyes was moving, thought provoking, and personally touching. In dealing with drama, beauty, and the abstractly fascinating concept of sexuality - this film fires on all cylinders.
It wobbles a little when it dives into the realm of comedy, but finds its footing by the end with an emotional resonance. Magical and clumsy, but clumsy like a teenager floundering through the education of the world of romance.
I love this movie.
