Review of Cashback (2007) by Robert H — 22 May 2012
If you told me before I saw this movie that it was about an insomniac art student who goes to work on the night shift at a grocery store, I would have thought it impossible to achieve an excellent rating from me.
I watch a lot of movies, and am always looking for that diamond in the rough. Anyone who has ever taken a job like this will find it easy to identify with the characters. The music, anything from opera to modern-day rock, always compliments the scene appropriately.
And the concept of the passage of time, and how it relates to our daily lives works well in conjunction with Ben's fantasy world. No heavy mind games, just good fun and a charming presentation...one of my all-time favorites.
