Review of Ca$h (2010) by Tony P — 08 Jun 2011
Enjoyable thriller with some comedy gold provided by Sean Bean with his dulcit Sheffield tones.
Bean actually plays 2 characters. brothers Pyke Kubic and his brother Mr. Kubic. Basically the story is about a young US couple who end up with half a mill US in a stroke of good luck (dumped in a police chase in Chicago) then the bad guy Bean knocking on the door and wanting the money (unlawfully his in the first place) back.
However Bean has OCD and wants every cent owed even when the couple of already spent some of the dough. The law abiding young couple turn into desperate 'criminals' themselves in order to cough up the dough for Bean.
Bean plays the character in Chicago with his usual Yorkshire accent and his ever present calmness yet OCD behaviour does provide some laughs.
This movie failed to get a nationwide cinema release I believe and I only caught it on cable TV yet it is quite a decent film all said.
