Review of Casablanca (1943) by Lawrence C — 26 Aug 2012
Not the greatest film ever made, but it's without a doubt Top 5, which is certainly saying something. That's because the movie was filmed as the script was being written and sent in, so the filmmakers actually had no idea what was coming next and were forced to shoot the scenes in chronological order.
Bogey is at the top of his game outside of his classic detective roles and Bergman puts in one of the greatest ever performances for an actress as a lady with a none-too-pleasing past with him. Probably the third greatest film ever made.
