Review of Casablanca (1943) by Stan D — 04 Dec 2012
This movie is justifiably in everyone's top 5 list, and mine as well. It was made during WWII, before we knew who would win, and it is about WWII. Bogart has the bar in Casablanca, and the Nazis come to attempt to imprison the resistance leader who is trying to leave town.
The movie has the famous romance between Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, and the unforgettable ending with the memorable, noble lines. Great supporting cast, with Paul Henreid, Peter Lorre, Sydney Greenstreet, and Claude Rains.
Incredibly, not even an oscar nomination for Bogart.
