Review of Casablanca (1943) by Stephen E — 28 Dec 2012
Often considered the greatest on-screen romance of all time, "Casablanca" is the quintessential American cinema classic. From Humphrey Bogart's iconic performance as Rick Blaine to Michael Curtiz's adept direction to even Arthur Edeson's elegant cinematography and expert use of lighting, it is a film that has stood the test of time so well that it still feels genuine today.
Personally, I'm not as big a fan of it as the rest of the world is, but I cannot doubt its greatness or question its place in the history books.
