Review of Casablanca (1943) by Mark L — 18 Apr 2013
Saying words in a review like "Classic" or "all time favorite" are used a lot, and when I say those about "Casablanca", people seem to shrug.
Yet this is still my favorite movie I have ever seen, and I claim now that I won't see a better one. The acting is so uncanny from every cast member that I never think of acting much at all when I see the film. The screenplay is rightly regarded as the most quoted ever, and the ending......what more can I say?
What makes this film great, too, is how we relate to these characters. We feel their emotions, whether positive or negative.
If movies were against the law, this is one I would still go to jail for.
