Review of Casablanca (1943) by Owen G — 15 Sep 2013
Very enthralling story. I loved the comedic aspects of it, not something I expected. I especially loved the cynism in Rick. I love how that was a constant and there wasn't a shift of personality by the end, more like a shift in beliefs.
The movie is really smart and almost ahead of it's time, but made in another time would've worsened it. Great film and really just gets me in a mood for old classics. Favorite movie? No. But when a movie deserves high marks, you give it.
Great film and it's not a film that was great for the times, but just great in general. Great acting, great writing, great plot and great directing.
